I was in the Ides program. I was medically separated from the service in April 10, 2012. Since that moment until three weeks ago my claim was in the preparation for decision phase, I had to submit evidence that I was in a financial hardship and about to loose my home. By doing this I was able to short the time. Maybe this is not the answer that you are looking for but at least let me share some of my limited knowledge in this area. I was told by my PEBLO that the average time for a veteran to start receiving compensation after separating fro the service is from 180 days to 440 days. She told me as well that VA goal is to make this within 30 days but as you can see thats not the case.

If you are having financial difficulties go to your bank and have them that you want a financial statement. Another way is to bring proof of delinquency in your mortgage payments. i really wish I could help more.
