It appears that there is quite a bit of old information on the availability of deck logs online. There are web pages that have not updated. I found one of these old sites and sent a request to the Deck Logs Section. Yesterday I called them and was told that due to sequestration and forced days off requests from the general public are no longer being processed. They are only processing requests from the JSRCC and the VA. So I ripped of a letter directly to the JSRCC asking them to get the deck logs. If they bomb out then I will have to put it in the hands of the VA. Considering my past experience with the VA I do not like depending on the VA to get any records.

My Congressman, John Boozman now my Senator, got my ships logs for all cruises. He had a copy sent to the VA and sent me a copy. The information sure answered a lot of questions that I had. All my logs were marked classified, but they were declassified for his order.

I would like for the to refuse a congressman. It just would not happen. It did take several months, but I did not even expect a response from them.

Excerpt from the 'Declaration of Independence'

We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity
