Apportionment To Stop

I got a call from my regional office yesterday telling me that they will stop the apportionment for my ex-wife and I will receive retro pay for the amount they took from me. They all send my ex a debt letter to recoup the over payment she received. Checked ebenefits nothing posted yet, hopefully this is done. I was also told that they were about to make a decision but with government shutdown they got furloughed before completing decision. Better later than never I guess! Now I wait to see what happens!

How did you get the apportionment to stop? I've been trying to figure out the process but I could never get the correct answer but run arounds.

Congratulations!  Did your spouse willingly stop the apportionment, were you making the payments otherwise, or did you get a lawyer and go to a judge?

Well looks like things are moving. Retro pay hit bank this morning, so I guess they finally stop apportionment. All can say is I wish them good luck on getting the money back from my ex!
