Inkster
Hello all, I'm currently rated 70% for PTSD. Sense I've been discharged my claim has been updated with PTSD, depression, ADHD, and schizophrenia. I've been told I am being evaluated for PTSD. I am currently working however I have to take weeks off at a time on FLMA. I am on no position to be working... I can go into detail if need be. My question is how can I prepare myself to make sure I get 100%. It's unfortunate but due to my schizophrenia things don't normally don't come out right.. Navy04
I have 6 exams next week too bud. Just be honest and tell the examiner about the worst day that you have had lately. Try not to talk about your job, because I know for a fact that the VA does not like to hear of a Veteran working if they have High % mental conditions. You and I both know that you are having a hard time with life, but the VA thinks that if you work, then you must be cured. Do not shower or shave, I know that sounds bad, but the Examiner will have a box to check that talks about your hygiene. Don't look the examiner in the eyes, and just look around the room. It is not that we are lying, but the fact is the VA will look for any reason to try to deny our legitimate claims. Good luck and keep us posted. 100% PTSD 100% Back 60% Bladder Issues 50% Migraines 30% Crohn's Disease 30% R Shoulder 20% Radiculopathy, Left lower 10% Radiculopathy, Right lower 10% L Knee 10% R Knee Surgery 2005&2007 10% Asthma 10% Tinnitus 10% Damage of Cranial Nerve II 10% Scars SMC S SMC K OEF/OIF VET 100% VA P&T, Post 911 Caregiver, SSDI
jesusplay
you being employed will hurt your chances of getting 100%.
TNengland
I agree with the above comment about that if you are currently working it will hurt your chances for the VA to rate you at 100%. Have you applied for SSDI? if you haven't you should. LanceJoseph
I went in for my c&p and I have been unemployed for 3 years due to depression and she didn't even mention it in the exam notes. Just be honest and when she asks you questions tell her about you at your worst times. After they denied me for 100% I got employment documents from 3 jobs I was laid off because of my inability to handle the work and be prepared to get an IMO
GEEBEE711
Just be aware that the VA is getting MANY fraudulent claims for PTSD. It's one of the biggest growing segment of new claims. While I'm at one of my many visits at the VA clinic, I often hear other Veterans tell other Veterans on how to "Game the System" when it comes to PTSD. How to act, how to answer the doctors questions, and even how to dress for the unkept look. PTSD is very REAL! But there are no x-rays or MRI's to validate PTSD. And because of those who Game the system, it makes this even harder for those who REALLY have PTSD to prove it! BE HONEST! These doctors can smell BS the moment one walks into the examination room!
