0 georgiapapa
In addition to health records, other documents may also help with SSDI and IU claims including documentation from VA voc rehab, former employers, etc. which show you are unable to work. JMO Good luck.

JMO Good luck. Thanks also I am wonder about DBQ's, I asked this question on another board but this one seems much more active so this is copy and pasted. I am looking at the DBQ and I am not sure which one is correct. My inflammatory myopathy is rated anagalous to fibromyalgia One of these is for autoimmune the other is for CNS and Neuromuscular disease, I see a rheumatologist there is no VA rating or anything for my condition so they pretty much gave me max for fibromyalgia. The CNS and Neuromuscular DBQ fits alot of what impacts me and asks the right questions but I don't have pain which is what fibromyalgia has if I am not mistaken. Also the DBQ serves what purpose and are there any limitations to using it for IU, Ratings increased, SSDI?http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-21-0960C-5-ARE.pdfhttp://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-21-0960M-3-ARE.pdf Edited October 12, 2014 by asheth007
0 NavyWife
The DBQs are used by the VA examiners when a vet goes in for a C&P exam. They are used for increases and initial service connection. They can also be filled out by any private medical doctor.

So I can see if my VA Rheumatologist will fill out the DBQ and use that when I submit a claim or is it more for a reference so I know what they are looking for? 0 NavyWife
Yes, definetely you could ask your doc to fill it out & then you would submit it with your claim. Some docs will do it & some wont. Here's a link with some more info on DBQs http://www.benefits.va.gov/compensation/dbq_disabilityexams.asp If you already have service connection for an issue, then filling out the DBQ is pretty straightforward for the doc. After its completed you could submit it along with the FDC application, either in paper form or upload through ebenefits. If you do not already have the SC, then the DBQ won't be enough. The doc will also need to make a nexus statement and give their rationale & state they have reviewed your pertinent medical records. You can research those terms here on hadit by using the search box. You can reference the DBQ to know how they rate each issue, but you need to compare it to the rating schedule for your issue, first. You need to lookup the rating code for your issue.
