0 georgiapapa
Kate, His copays for VA appointments and VA prescriptions would be reimburseable back to the effective date of the award where his combined rating was 50% or higher. He is now in priority group 1 and no longer has copays in the VA system. Regarding reimbursement of private medical expenses, it is my understanding he would be reimbursed for out of pocket emergency care expenses only for treatment of his service connected conditions back to the effective date of his award for those service connected conditions. Contact the business office at your husband's VAMC to request reimbursement of copays. They will perform an audit of his account and send him a check. It took me about 6 weeks to get my check.
