Regional Office (VARO) which was mentioned here recently on hadit. Apparently the V.A. office of Inspector General did a report that stated that VARO Oakland had more than 14,000 informal claims from veterans stuck in a file drawer. Supposedly those informal claims are now missing. Obviously, this would not be a good office for appealing a claim. If they are deliberately showing claims in a file drawer and later misplacing them then I think they could do the same thing with an appeal.
