Probably.  You need these three things for service connected compensation:

1.  Current diagnosis

2.  In service event or aggravation.

3.  Nexus, or medical link between your current diagnosis and in service event.  

It sounds like you have (had) an "in service event".  

What I dont know is if you have a diagnosis, and if you have a nexus.  

You will also need "symptoms", once service connected, and I dont know what your symptoms are.
