0 Moderator broncovet Posted April 12, 2023 Moderator Share Posted April 12, 2023 (edited) Welcome to hadit. Many Veterans seeking a nexus letter "throw a wide net", since this is a specialty and you often dont want to limit your choices to ones home area. But, before we go there, please give more background information. A huge deal is your "event in service" you think caused your UC. In other words, if you dont have a documented "event in service", then a "nexus letter" linking your "event in service" to your current diagnosis wont exist. So, be sure you have the event in service documented before you spend money trying to link to an event which did not occur. And, perhaps more importantly, you may not even need a nexus letter. Why? Because yours may well be a "presumptive" if your service was at the right place during the right period. In other words, if your military service was in a designated area known where there was burn pit toxic exposures, for example, you are "presumed" your applicable condition is related to service. More here. https://www.va.gov/resources/the-pact-act-and-your-va-benefits/ (I have updated this post due to a bad link, which has been fixed, above). Thus, plug in your military service, and see if you need it before you waste your money. There are also presumptives for Agent orange, mainly for Vietnam Vets, as well as many others. If we know where and when you served, we can guide you better. If you have been denied benefits for UC, you can post your "reasons and bases" for decision, and we can guide you better, "to ensure" that a nexus will help you. A nexus is super important, but its not the only thing. There are 3 Caluza elements for SC, not ONE. Edited April 13, 2023 by broncovet
