I filed for a DRO review of a claim denial for GERD. I also sent in a letter outlining my notice of disagreement along with the form. I have always done this, as I am a strong believer that you cannot give them too much information, and that you should always spell out exactly what you disagree with and why, citing as much evidence as you possibly can. Also, I sent this in via USPS, regisitered mail, return receipt requested. I'm old school and I stick to what has always worked for me. Today, it appeared in my appeals on the VA website. Out of habit, I checked my Claims Letters, and there was one dated June 15, 2023 so I checked it. It was the letter outlining my disagreement that I had sent in. This is obviously a mistake by whoever uploaded the letter, and my first thought was to just let it ride a while and see what happens. Now I am wondering if the DRO will even see the letter because it was uploaded incorrectly. What do you all think? Should I call Monday morning and see if it shows up with my appeal form or just let it ride a few weeks?

Monday June 19, 2023, is a federal holiday and most government agencies will be closed. I was hoping to get an updated status from the BVA before the holiday but no luck. This is a new holiday that was established recently. Juneteenth was established in 2021 as a federal holiday.

My intentions are to help, my advice maybe wrong, be your own advocate and know what is in your C-File and the 38 CFR that governs your disabilities and conditions.

Do your own homework. No one knows the veteran’s symptoms like the veteran. Never Give Up.

I do not give my consent for anyone to view my personal VA records.
