Arthur White
A Va disability lawyer was representing me for my VA disability claim and withdrew his representation a few years ago after being awarded his 20% on one of the claims he represented me on. Now i have been awarded my increase for a new claim that he had nothing to do with and he wants another 20% because of an unfortunate contingency fee agreement that has no verbiage in it regarding any future claims... VA is holding a significant lump sum until i file motion. Can someone help please?
Moderator pacmanx1 Posted January 30 Moderator Share Posted January 30 (edited) Quote Can someone help please? Just found this on-line. I am quite sure others will chime in. I think I read somewhere that you can contact the lawyer in writing and try to remind him/her of your case and see if he/she would withdraw his/her claim for this particular payment since they were not involved and that would be the easiest way but if they do not then you will have to file a motion. Hope this helps. https://www.va.gov/OGC/docs/Accred/HowtoChallengeaFee.pdf Edited January 30 by pacmanx1 My intentions are to help, my advice maybe wrong, be your own advocate and know what is in your C-File and the 38 CFR that governs your disabilities and conditions. Do your own homework. No one knows the veteran’s symptoms like the veteran. Never Give Up. I do not give my consent for anyone to view my personal VA records.
