Reviewing my disability ratings and wondered. I served during the prior to and during the Gulf War, but not "in" the Gulf War Zone physically.

Saw three distinctively different time periods assigned to my SC ratings and they are correct. Peacetime Incurred, Peacetime Aggravation and Gulf War, Incurred. What if any bearing do these time periods have on me?thanks,cg

For my children, my God sent husband and my Hadit family of veterans, I carry on.

God Bless A m e r i c a, Her Veterans and their Families!

They are just periods of time used by the VA. For example if you served during the VN War but spent your entire time at Fort Polk, your claim would still read that you are a VN War era veteran. Dont mean you went just that you served during that time period.

cg,

There can be several different reasons and ways, time periods can have some effect on a veterans priority level, rating decisions, certain benefits, etc...

If you are questioning something specific you might want to check thru 38 CFR, Part 3 -

Adjudication - http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-...fr3_main_02.tpl

Sections such as:

http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-...4.2&idno=38

or

http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-...111&idno=38

are beneficial for research.
