Question

Hello All,

I have been reading the forums and am thankful for the useful information I have found. My claim was just settled tonight, based on Ebenefits, and said I was awarded 70%.

My question comes from looking at the disability section on the website and it provides three different dates. I was wondering if there anyone knows for sure what would be the date the VA will look to award backpay.

For reference it says something like:

Strain, left knee (previously under dc 5257) service connected. Pre discharge Exam. 6/26/2014

Degenerative join disease, right shoulder (previously under dc 5201-5003)/ service connected/ pre-dischare exam/ 6/26/2014

PTSD/ service connected/ PTSD-Combat/ 6/25/2013

Tinnitus Service connected 12/15/2014

My claim was filed on 12/15/2014.

Any insight is much appreciated.

12/15/2014 is your DOC for pre discharge. after you separate you DOC become the day after seps im assuming 6/26/2014

It looks like it was an FDC claim so your additional 12 months of retro for the date 062513 is back dating 1 year.

sorry for the multiple post i just noticed the edit button.
