Can I get a separate rating for depression and anxiety?

My VA psychiatrist diagnosed me depression and an anxiety disorder.

This is the diagnosis in my medical file:

ASSESSMENT//DSM V Diagnosis:
1. Major Depression, recurrent
2. Unspecified anxiety disorder

The va rated me 50% for: unspecified depressive disorder (claimed as dsythymia, anxiety)

Pyramiding prevents being compensated for anything twice, as you now know.  Mental health disorders are rated the same, and if you are diagnosed with more than one, you can only get paid for the most severe.  

Still, if "anxiety" is "new" (since your c and p exam which awarded you benefits), then you may be eligible for an increase if your symptoms worsened.  An example of worsing symptoms could be that you had to lose work more, or you lost your job, family breakups, etc.
