Thank you for responding and giving me advise. Yes his PTSD has gotten worse and I read the table and he does qualify for 100%. The thing is that I didn’t know how to do this claims and now I’m getting advise from his friends that served with him and I’m getting in forums like this reaching out. One of his friend just told me to check and see if functional neurological disorder is not in the same mental health category as PTSD because it would be pyramiding.

Should I attempt to increase to 100% for PTSD as well?

Hi, my husband’s health has poorly deteriorated and has been diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder. The doctors say he developed this because of his PTSD. He had severe PTSD and was an alcoholic. He attempted to kill himself many times before. He finally stopped drinking after therapy after many years but since December has developed this disorder. The PTSD was service connected back in 2011 at 70%. He is now experiencing loss of use of both lower extremities, Lou of right arm, he cannot see out of right eye and cannot hold bowel or urine. How should I go forward with his claim? Can someone give me some advise please. Thank you so much for any input because I’m kind of loss.

Hi, I been dealing with PTSD for several years now and my condition has been worsening. I have a 70% disability rating for PTSD. I used to drink a lot and was isolated from society for years. I have attempted to end my life many times and finally reached a point where my family did an intervention and had me do AA and metal health meetings. I stopped drinking and been sober for 2 months now. However other health issues came up. I been having seizures, cannot see out of my right eye, lost movement of my right hand and feet and I’m confined to bed. I only get around with a wheel chair. The doctor told me this is due to PTSD and I have Functional Neurological Disorder which also was called conversion disorder before, and I’m waiting for physical therapy to start hopefully in a few days. I don’t know if I should seek for an increase of my PTSD or file a secondary claim for FND conversion disorder since it’s also a mental health condition. Can any one give me some advise please.

Thank you so much for the advise guys. I do not manage the real state, a property manager does but I do make around 20K a year from it. That’s why I wasn’t sure about taking the tdiu route. I am having complications with my left knee and my back hurts. My doctor told me is because the way I walk is creating these other issues. I will have to see the orthopedic doctor again and get a referral for a back doctor. Once again I appreciate the advise.

Hello, I was diagnosed with Arthritis on my left foot and was awarded 20% disability. As time went by I needed surgery and on August 2019 I completed the surgery. During the surgery the doctor had to place a plate across my foot with seven screws. My foot has been swollen since (Can’t fit a shoe) and with a lot of pain. I cannot move my toes and have to use a cane (prescribed) to walk. My wife helps me around with bathing and dressing. I was awarded a temporary 100% until February only because of the surgery but I’m back at 20% now. I am also loosing my job because I cannot perform my duties under my current condition. I don’t know how to apply for this claim. I thought about TDIU but I have a couple of properties and collect rent so I don’t think I qualify. Nonetheless I’m reaching out to see if I can get some advise on the options I may have to file this correctly. Perhaps I can only file for an increase but I’m not sure. Any advise will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I got approved to get my masters degree. The thing with Vocational rehab is that you need to convince them that school will benefit you, not because you will earn more money but because it will make your symptoms, such as PTSD, better. For example, if a person came back with PTSD and had a job that will only make PTSD worse then he or she would need to explain that it is very important to seek an alternative in order to get better. Concentrate more on providing evidence on why your current situation would improve upon getting the degree you are seeking to have. It worked for me, I concentrated in explaining why my current job was making my symptoms worse and how it would tremendously benefit me if I was able to find another job without sacrificing why I made at the time. I have a family so I also let the counselor know that I could not afford to make less. Also try to seek help from the DAV, they can write letters on your behalf and trust me they always answer them in a timely manner. Good luck.

What makes it worse is that it says that the due date has already passed. How can this be??? I sent all my paperwork through DAV. I also see the papaerwork sent by me to support my claim, but this was sent together with the files missing. Has this happenned to anyone.. please I need some advise, my claim has already been sent for a desicion!!
