  1. I know the feeling well, from what you tell I think it sounds like a win for you. Dont give up
  2. You are going to have to go in to VA, they give you a computer test that is stupid and redundent, that is equivalent to mmpi. Then you have to talk to VA psycho, to determine your diagnosis, and then they assign a gaf score which you are rated on. The private opinion will hold just as much weight as VA. Good luck
  3. I think the letter generator is usually updated before you will receive descion in mail. At least my letter was updated the day after ebenefits stated it was mailed.
  4. Rep at region said nothing was outstanding or on admin review, ebenifits still says on open claim, preparation for decision. I wonder if they are reviewing the comments I made the week of decision, maybe those didnt make it to rater in time for consideration?
  5. Thanks for reply, region rep called today said all my claims were granted at the most they could do, I like how va examiners can put whatever they want on questionaire, put mild symptoms on everything when I stated severe stomach pain at times and vomiting basically for gerd it would of been 30% alone not figuring the other 3. Bull
  6. Thanks for all the feedback, I never thought about the DAV, I wonder if you have to go to school, or would my 2 year degree in Law enforcement be sufficient. I am going to take my time, but eventually I have to get out of the bop prison, for my family,s sake and mine.
  7. I know I shouldnt complain, because lots are fighting for the same thing that dont have a job. But I dont like seeing the VA lowball deserving VETS all the time if you deserve 60 you get 60 not 10, so you have to wait 3 years for appeal. My thing is I hate working in a Prison, I would rather help VETS or do something constructive.
  8. My recent claims 5 total took 2 weeks from Pending Approval St Paul MN RO.
  9. I checked ebenfits today and my recent claim that was granted, is on there 2/28/12, but under open claims it has 2/28/12 and Administrative Review. I did talk to cvso about appealing, but I told him I wanted to go and get IMO, before filing for increase on 4 gastro things. Dont I have to initiate the process first, I dont understand, its going to be 3 weeks for my doc to get opinion together. Thank you for help
  10. I recently got rated for these conditions, they grouped it but broke it down for each condition. I dont understand how they can get away with 20% rating. Gastritis came back non comp, gerd 10%, chronic diahrrea 10%, ulcer 10%. The severity is much worse than examiner made it out to be I explained this to them, when I drew progress notes from exam, they didnt like that. These conditions are secondary to migraines NSAIDS they give me every month lol. I got service connection great but not good enough for me, I am currently at 90% from 80%. These conditions go back to 1998. Should I go to my private doc and have her fill questionnaires for conditions? I think I should have came out at 60 combined considering the constant pain even with ppi.
  11. If I opted to take opm disability what avenue would I claim? Migraines, PTSD, Back or is it a combinations, because all these things impact my ability to do my job mentally and physically. My work environment aggravates my conditions, my meds only slightly help, and I have used my sick leave for service conditions. Alot of times employer federal government is questioning my use and trying to write up other disabled vets for our va appts, and sick leave, conditions docs have stated stay home take your meds, but you have to go pay co pay at imo for a sick note. Crap, sick of IT!
  12. With my most recent gastro claim sec to chronic NSAID use VA perscribed me, I think they low balled me the examiner put mild symptoms for everything. Had scope 2008 showed gastritis gerd ulcer, the ibs was considered chronic diahrea. The pain is much worse than made out to be on the progress notes I drew from VA exam. I plan on a IMO from my clinic, because I think I should of received a combined 60% and 10 for Dev Sep, which would of put me at 100%. Then I could pursue FERS without having to worry about TDIU. Its going to be hard to convince VARO with IMO when examiner screwed me, at least I connected it. The prison I know wont try to give me another job, because of environment, I would have to go to different agency, that I dont want. My VA psych doc wont ok me to quit he thinks we can work through my probs, with appointments once a month thats a joke. lol. Thinking about private pysch but dont know how VA would look at her opinion versus va psych. I just want to relieve my family's stress with me around, we are still dealing with the loss of our son in 2008. Thanks for advice so far,
  13. Hi Everybody, this is my first post here, but a long time reader. I need advice on what to do now that I just received an increase to 90%. Basically my ratings are as follows 50 ptsd, 50 migraines, 20 for chronic diahrea, gerd, gastritis, ulcers, 20 chronic back strain, 10 tinnitus, 10 flat feet, 0 deviated septum I am going to appeal 20 that I recently received for gastro probs and increase that was denied for deviated septum, been rated since 2003. I want to file for TDIU or try to get 100 PT, but I have a job working in a Federal Prison as a Officer for 10 years that I can barely take anymore with med mix, so I would file for FERS disability too. I cant afford to quit my job and basically gamble on TDIU and FERS should I retain a attorney, my cvso's are urging me to work, or go back to school because I am 35. I just want to be left alone and focus on my family, its been along road. Advice?
