I have been diagnosed with cogenital pes planus(Latin for hollow foot , AKA high arches) My entrance exam made no note of the condition. I completed Army Airborne and Air Assault training. During the Air Assault graduation day road march my feet locked up, I could barely walk, (incidently I scored 299 on my PT test. 99 push ups, 92 situps, 12:30 2 mile run.) I finished the road march with about 2 minutes to spare. I was taken to infirmary, given motrin and confined to quartes for 3 days. My first day back to pt my feet locked up again, fell and was taken back to the infirmary. My MSR'S state " feet and toes stiffen while running" " fell in hole, has class 2 severe right ankle sprain, swollen, limited range of motion, torn tendons". Confined to quarters again. I was 4 months from ETS. Took a week of leave , rested, came back and finished with an honorable discharge. I started having trouble again, went to a podiatrist, diagnosed with heel spurs. Given injections did not work. Sent to an orthapedic surgeon. Diagnosed with biateral plantar fascitis. Placed in walkin boots for a year. Didn't work. Had surgery on both feet. A year later, surgery on left foot again for the same thing. 4 months ago diagnosed with a Giant Cell Tumor of the Tendon Sheath, Contracted a staph infection after surgery, nearly lost my foot. I am slowly recovering, a very large area has turned black and has to heal. I can't work, have a wife and 2 children. Told by Dr I will be out at least a year. I filed for disability for the condition and was denied. The NP that conducted my C and P exam stated I had pes cavus, hammer toes, plntar fasciltis, scars, and anklyosis. I though I was good to go. My Cand P came back, the same NP noted I have none of the conditions and was denied. I have an IME, states service connected. I have 3 orthapedic surgeons, 2 MDS, 2 NPs, and a podiatrist that state I have the condition. My claim has been in Jackson,MS since.1/1/12. I have contacted my congressmen and begged for help to no avail. I don''t know what to do. Prayers would be greatly aprreciated.
