  1. Berta, thanks you for the reply, sure will take that advice..B) Pete, Im currently 60% with the VA with IU and other issues Pending.. Ive tried to update my profile on this site, but for some reason it wont let me...Any Advice Rize
  2. Greetings, Finally had my alj hearing, things went well. Actually the alj was not an evil man all..The lawyer and I went in, the lawyer gave his brief, and the ALJ asked questions pertaining to my daily living. The Voc person rattled off a few jobs that I could do, and the alj shot them down.. I was shocked to say the least. It was done, ALJ said he would approve a year before date of application. The only advice I can give, is if your are at the hearing level dont go at it alone. Medical evidence is a must. I would like to say thank you to all hadit members for posting their experience, THATS WAS PRICELESS... B) Now if I can just get this C&P out of the way for IU..... Rize
  3. William, Glad to hear another vet from Florida, need answer to a question. Since I see you have NSC pension, how much do they add per dependent? I currently have claims in for increase,NSC pension, and IU. Told decision was made 13 Nov.. Since then just been waiting, 1-800 folks just say it with authorization?? Thanks, Rize
  4. MT, Great Post! Just hate to think about the struggles they will face after returning home. Dealing with, and having to navigate through the VA Maze just to get whats due.. Rize
  5. Kryptos, That 1-800 will never give you the same answer..And that so called IRIS wont tell, or give you anything more than a general claims answer that can fit almost any claim..I still am lost as to why they even offer to give assistance..I know that when most vets call they are looking for real time updated answers, maybe in 10 yrs. So to answer your question, to me the system is that messed up..(This is 2007 where computers play a big role in helping society, but the VA only uses computers to their advantage..) Rize
  6. Ricky, Was a MVA, on duty going base to base vehicle rolled several times, few of us passengers were ejected. I survived. Rize
  7. Huskerfanfl, Carlie, Thanks for your input..Seems the system is working you guys.Hopefully over time it will work for me too..I'm on my reconsideration.. Currently rated at 40% for:Left Ankle 4 screws,RightLeg Rod and 4 screws Right Eye Dosent Close, Deformed eyelid..And these are the things that got rated (low but rated).. Things that have not been rated. My face scars right side of face covering from forehead to chin.. Muscle loss right calf about 70% gone 14x2 inch retangular scar on thigh(donor site for skin graft)... I have a rep. now and submitted pictures/IMO..So I'm just hoping things will finally get resovled. Everything is from a single accident and is s/c.. Rize
  8. Gretting to all here at hadit: The sun has risen..Filing for a VA claim is about the same as tossing yourself in a garbage disposal..The people at the RO are nothing more than paper pushers period..All the time it takes to go from Triage team, to development team, to rating board, postdetermination team, to public contact.. Our claims might get looked a seriously by the raters for a brief moment, they either want to make quick decision or send it back to the pre-determinaton team, because we all know they have quotas! I just cant believe all that other time is merely spent pushing around your claims folder..Here it is all these vets have claims in, but its nothing more than a paper chase until the rater sees your claim for that brief moment. Now this seems very strange, going throurgh all these steps and procedures to ensure you have a proper claim, just to toss it in the VA's Garbage Disposal. At least we do get an effective date before the they turn on the disposal switch. Now I know the VA is suppose to be there for you after disabiling injures , or disease..But suppose to be and being there a 2 very different things... Dont get me wrong, I'm not the type of guy trying to get benefits that are not due!!Just trying to figure out why I even joined the military, oh I know, to be all I can be, and VA would have your back in case of serious injury..Yes they have my back, but waaaaaaaaaaay back... All comments welcome espically those supporting todays VA Please tell me, do I have a wrong opinion about them, and they way the system is designed. Rize
  9. Terry & Pete Thanks for the information, I think maybe I need to talk with my doc about moving up the dosage. As of right now I'm only taking one-half of the dosage. And it dosen't seem to do anything but make me a little sleepy..I dont need sleep meds, Just something to slow down to pain at least 'Cause the pain, oh man the pain. I have a VA appointemnt today, not leaving there until doc Ups the medication, or perscribes another..
  10. Hello everyone, first I'd like to say this is a very informative Forum. Big ups to the admin/webmasters. I'm currently 40% s/c with reconsideration pending..My question is about Gabapentin, I have been perscribed this med. by the VA for PAIN. Dosent seem to work for me. I have 3 screws holding together the left ankle, and a Rod-with screws in the right leg. Is there another similiar med. out there that I could ask my primary doc to perscribe for me.??? Any info. would be great!! Thanks
