Va issued Shoes for diabetics I wear these shoes, very comfortable, first pair fit fine....second pair (which are all made in a wide width) did not fit, causing a blister on my left toe. Went to podiatry yesterday, and was told "you have to contact prosthetics to order new shoes". I called prosthetics today and was told I can get an extra wide width, need order from the Dr. Contacted va dr today, told him.. his statement to me was "you can order extra wide? I didn't know that" ... so if your shoes don't fit ask the dr to order extra wide.

If you are receiving a perscription for a health problem you presently are receiving a percentage for, the va is not to be charging you health provider for the meds...If they are, contact the provider and let them know, they will want proof of your approved percentage...
-
There is a bill in congress right now to make "0" percent compensation a minimum of 10%...
-
Remember...If you have a percentage for diabetes, you are entitled to one teeth cleaning a year, also a pair of diabetic shoes.....very comfortable...

The vietnam vet who received this letter, I convinced him to take the agent orange test, of which they came up with 7 items, PTSD was one of them. They sent him to va hosp to see a phych, and after that, about a month, he received the letter w/ the brochure, this happened in the last couple of months..
-
If you would like, I'll get the brochure from him and scan it, and post it...

A friend of mine, vietnam vet....just filed for PTSD, received this letter about a month ago, along with a va brochure on suicide prevention...

I have never received a white envelope, all my claim denials & approvals have been in a brown envelope.....
I have 3 vet friends who are 100%, and all their 100% notices where in white envelopes....

The check you will be getting is a rebate for your 2007 taxes....you will not be required to pay takes on this money.....
-

Yes, the dealer allowed me to take delivery....He made up several loan papers in case it didn't come thru, so when it did , he used the loan with the money down from the va...He had never done a deal with the va involved, now he advertises it..

unless your rated above 90%, and it's rounded off to 90%, that little difference might put you over the top...I don't think anyone understands the va math...
-
I think it's a good idea....If your 40%, this will put you at 50%, which covers you 100% for free health care. If your at 90% this pushes you to 100%...it's a good thing...

Do you have returned paperwork Stamped from the va stating how much they will be giving you. If you have, just give it to the dealer....takes about 2 weeks for the dealer to receive the check...just went thru this in november....took 3 months to get the stamped letter from the va....

Using a VSO to file a NOD is a waste of time, to many times they use a scripted reponse, and have no deep techincal knowledge of your file. If your denied on your claim.....hire a attorney who specializes in va claims.....at 9 month clips between each denial, why wait...

I agree with John 100%.....you need to figure out the system....

Ok, I looked up my rating decision and they have mine under:
Impairment of Central Visual Acuity
It is somewhere between 6075 and 6079, but it does not specify exactly which one.
I hope this helps some.
thanks..
