  1. Ok, I got copy of C&P looks like 100%. They are doing stressor verification now. I'm already service connected for tinnitus. In the C&P for major depressive disorder it states, Medical diagnoses relevant to the understanding or management of the mental disorder, tinnitus, chronic pain. What does that mean? Is that stating service connection because of tinnitus?

For the  first request 30. If you can't recall everything still put it on an  0781  because we can go look for it but we're have too know what stressor events you are claiming, or at least generally (fear for life, personal trauma, etc) so the JRRC and VSR knows what too look for and we knows what records too request from who and where.

How long are these request taking at this time? Week, Month?

If you have a  CIB or ribbon on your DD 214..They should concede the stressor or stressors.

If not then you will need to prove where the operation/event of trauma was with your lay statement, the approx  time and date within 10 days  and add your unit as they can go back and check this all out, add your company commander name and your  NCO in charge couple of buddies names if you can remember....check with them to write you a letter detailing the event as they were with you during that time  as you describe it ect,,ect,,,

If this is not on your DD 214..BUT IT SHOULD BE.

Within 10 days, I thought it was 30?

Based on what you posted, I had a feeling that is what happened. They do seem to be turning them around pretty quickly. I had a C&P on a different claim recently and it took them about one week to issue a decision, but that was on a supplemental. I don't see why they would do anything different on a HLR. After all, when you have a HLR that requires a C&P, it gains elements of a supplemental (i.e. new evidence = the C&P exam). I hope they find in your favor.

    They are doing stressor verification

  6. I was told this morning that they where waiting on stressor verification. I was in northern Iraq, as part of Operation Provide Comfort, with hazard duty pay. this was almost 30 years ago. Riot control, mine fields, etc.. We didn't have cell phones or video and not everything was reported everyday, like it is today. C&P was in my favor. guess they are trying to deep six me

@Joey Ross I just had my HLR informal conference call and asked about this. They said HLR's are worked in the order in which they were received. Mine was received by the VA in April 2020 and is estimated to be completed this week. It looks like they are running around four months. A couple of other HLR posts within the past month are showing the same.

Of course, if the VA is having to request records from somewhere, perform new C&Ps, etc..., that would likely cause a delay.

If you are in a provably desperate situation such as homeless, terminally ill, etc... you can ask the VA to escalate your HLR.

Yeah I had a new C&P on the 7th of Aug.

All I know is that they found 3 DTA errors and I had a new C&P on the 7th of August. I was told today that they where waiting on my service records, before moving to next stage

Well, no.  Higher level review does not permit "new evidence", and I would suppose that would mean your service records, had they not been there before.

Mostly, I dont recommend HLR "except in speical circumstances" when you have internet real time access to your VBMS file and you can check to make sure no new evidence is needed.

Instead, I most often recommend going to the BVA.

It is my service records. Had new C&P August 7th

I can only be guessing here but maybe a rater that had your claim had some problems making a decision and he ask his supervisor such as a DRO (decision review officer) review your claim/case  and the DRO will do a complete review of your files on your claim and make the decision.

It can go either way  DRO's are pretty precise with their decisions  I always figured they grant the award if they have all the evidence they need to make the decision.   & you got that  so no use to worry.

Do you think since this is a HLR that they are just running it by DRO for approval ?

Thank you Brother, hoping this is over soon.

I could be wrong here  but I seem to remember a few years ago some of the elder members  mention more 25.000.00 $$  they need a third signature and usually takes a few months.

Anything less than that its the normal time week to a month or so.  depending how busy they are.

Hang in there   keep checking it..some times retro is at your Bank in your account before you know it....mine was there before I knew it and went to my bank and it was deposited a couple weeks before I knew it.

So, I'd wait on back pay, but claim will close, and I still get my monthly payment, Right?

If I get !00% its around 56,000. So, it could be months, even if it a higher level review?
