Thanks Berta for the great help. I remembered seeing his name time after time on the old forum, but could not remember what his name was. Again thanks for the help.

Berta,
What was the name and contact info for the Dr. that helped Vets. I think he would help service connect the disability. I hope I'm wording this correctly.
Thanks,

He is 10 percent and only will be charged (supposedly) 7 dollars for non sewrvice connected conditions. I believe Ibuprofeben is considered an Over the counter drug.

Yes this is true. He is charged $7.00 for all his non sc meds, but what about over the counter drugs. Ibuprofen is an over the counter but are there other meds such as asprin and so forth that you can get from the VA at no charge? He takes asprin everday for heart problems.
thanks,

Hi,
My husband was given ibuprofen 800mg. This was for a non sc condition. When they gave it to him, they gave him 4 bottles at one time and said it was no charge. He is 10% sc and pays a co-pay on other medicines. My question is...are there certain medicines at no charge and if so is there a list somewhere that tells about this?
Thanks,

Morgan,
Do you know if the shoes are SAS shoes? Do you know if there is a difference between SAS and diabetic shoes? I think SAS may be just a name brand but I'm not sure.
Thanks,

Thanks for the help. After I posted this my husband called and said he had talked to his dr. and he pretty much said what you did. He'll put it in and see if if goes.
Again thanks,

Does anyone know if the VA provides diabetic shoes? And if so, do you have to be sc to get them from the VA?
Thanks,

Dr. Screwed Up Husbands Toe
in VA Disability Claims Research
Posted
MY husband has suffered from toe pain for over a year. First x-ray was done last Oct. and showed nothing according to Podiatrist at the VA. He prescribed Tramadol for pain. Well months later still in pain and another x-ray, so dr. decided to do "exploritory surgery". When he cut open the toe(by the way I forgot to mention, my husband could feel a knot on the toe but the dr. could not) anyway, he said he saw it then and "scraped the bone". Well that was in May. Husband still in pain worse than before, and podiatrist said it would take a year for it to heal. The toe now will not bend. Well today he went to the red team dr. and she looked looked at it and said "he sure messed up your toe", and she said I've got something that will take care of the pain and of course gave him a script for Tramadol...Question, can anything else be done? Is this dr. liable? Should this be reported? I'm sure the red team dr. did not write what she said down and probably would not go against another dr either. Just wondering...
