  1. Its been awhile since I posted anything and the reason is, I forgot. Been busy with the grandkids, getting some exercise and feeling good for my age. I am having to learn how to navigate this website as it has changed and my computer skills are not that good. Will post again  after I practice some.

  2. I agree, its not wise to tell people if you are awarded benefits unless you really want to know who your real friends are. Just say you are retired and have been a good money manager. It works for me.

  3. Go for it. If all the info is in your treatment records. Some doctors won't write a letter, be it VA doctors or outside the system doctors due to their job security. Get another rep. I never did get any help from the DAV, just request for more money. Get letters from family, your last employer or people you who know you can't work and send them to the VA. They will accept lay statements as evidence in your claim. Good luck.

  4. When I got 100% P&T I got the retro in less than 10 days. It maybe the RO where your claim is being processed that,s holding it up. My claims have all been processed at the Nashville TN. VA. and the retro has always showed up in less than 10 days. My last retro payment exceeded the S25000.00 limit for more processing. A congress man might be of some help. jmo

  5. We never know how many veterans we help with the infomation this site provides, but if we were successful with our claims we know they can be won. We owe it to others to help them. We will never knon the full extent of where agent orange was used or how long its effect will affect other people. During a C&P exam at the Nashville Tn va the docter told me the other agents used were ten times more toxit than agent orange and the government dosen't even want to discusse it. So maybe agent onange isn't the big problem but the other chemiical used are. This problem could be around for generations to come. I have stuided and been trained in the hazards of chemicals and all chemicals are toxit when used improperely.

  6. If the you are taking meds for depression are form your PCP then ask to see a psych. Meanwhile file a claim for depression and follow Philip Rogers advice. The VA may give you additional percentages for disabilities you already have plus depression and increase your disability to 100% P&T. This happen to me. Good luck

  7. Good for you and thanks for your service. You did the right thing and it does take a lot of work and research and getting your claim together so its easy for the VA to understand. It took me some time but I was awared 100% P&T in January 2013 going back to 2009. I am happy for you.

  8. Welcome to hadit Jeff and thanks you for your service. This site has a lot of sharp people when it comes to working the VA system. They have been there, done that, and been and won their claims. They are willing to help you. They helped me and I am gratefull for them.

  9. Contac tthe National Personnel Records Center in St.Louis and ask for a copy of all his military records from the day he entered service to his discharge. You can do this as a family member. You can do this online, however you will have to sign a release form which you can fax back to them before they will release the records. Get technicalt ,ask for pay records, copies of orders, guard duty assingments and anything else you can think of. The records are there but you have to ask for them. Thank you for your sevice and good luck . Listen to the hadit members and they will help you to suceed in this endevor. They are expetts and they have yraveled this road before.

  10. I found the hadit site a few years ago and begain reading the post on how to work the va system and make it work for me. It worked and today I am 100 % P&T. A road to be traveled is a lot eaiser if you listen to someone who has traveled it before you. Thank you hadit members for all your help. I recomend this site to all my veteran buddies.
