  1. Thanks Belle that thought has already crossed my mind.... I have a week to go and i am already way to worked up with anixety.
  2. Hey there, will be going in on next week, this time no holding back, going to lay it all out there on my inital i was worried about what they would think, label me crazy....well now after working with my therapist i know i have to be honest with these doc's. The bad thing is you know how draining reliving these moments can be, and all of this on my b-day. This is when they scheduled me. Thanks to you guys and gals on the board also who help push us vets that need it to open up, it is difficult i never wanna be vulnerable, but to be compensated properly i know i have to let it all out. Any words of encouragement or advice will be most welcomed. Thanks to all.
  3. Thanks guys I'm not there yet but I was told some bum scoup, but as I see here some others also were unaware of the correct answer. 5= round up 4= round down
  4. simply stated above if you are 95.1 % is that rounded up to 100%
  5. Thanks, I do eat right to help things go smoother (ha,ha), but after seeing someone go through this surgery and how much pain they were in i would use it as a last resort. Even the doctor said it will be the most pain you'll ever have, and its not guarentted to fix the problem.
  6. I have a C & P coming up for PTSD increase, because i was worried about how the military viewed us and the repercussions i never told them about my suicidal tendencies, after getting out and having a breakdown my wife called for help, they told her i needed to call i'm glad i did, but since i never told them they did not rate me as such. I did not want to seem vulenerable, but i'm glad too see many of us have these feelings, to keep up our walls and block others from coming in. Once again i'm glad i have a place to vent, talk, and learn.
  7. Has anyone had a problem with hemorrhoids? I seen a Procto, about a year ago and had a colonoscopy (sic) done. He told me i had rhoids, but also a fissure tear, he wanted to do surgery and after he told me how bad it would hurt i said what are my other options....eat more fiber....well i do that but still have the problems. I just can not have that surgery, anyone i've ever talked to said it is not even worth it. So can i seek treatment from the va i was seen while i was still in and diagnoised (active duty), so is this a service connected disability? I can not find any info online except for people with hemorrhoids in Virgina.
  8. If your septumn was deviated then you get it but since it is probably related to your location you probably will not be compensated. with a deviated septumn at least there proof of a breathing condition.
  9. I understand I am new to the way the VA does business, but it seems as you get older the VA careless and is more able to blow you off. Me being a young Iraq vet I am constantly looking up info and trying to make myself more knowledgable towards the way they do business. It just seems that many older vets have horror stories about the VA, I can say that so far I have not had a problem, but i am glad to find this forum and have info like this just in case, to cover my 6
  10. Soon after recieving my 1st anthrax shot I began to have sevre sweating problems. I have been diagnoised with hyperhidrosis, and constantly ruin shirts, my undersarms sweat so much that it saturates my shirts and i dare not wear a shirt of light color or without sometimes 2 undershirts. i know that they do have a clothing allowance available for people with skin conditions that ruin clothing, i also suffer from this in my groin region and underwear does not last long either. (swamp butt 24/7 it seems) very uncomfortable. And there are times when i wake up in night sweats, not just sweaty, but soaked to the bone. The 1st time i thought i wet the bed. I use so much baby powder to try and stay try, but to no avail. Is this something that can be rated and am i wrong for trying to? None of these symptoms were ever present before those shots.
  11. That is what i do, i feel that i am bugging them calling so much, but as i am finding out if you do not stay on there ass you become the bottom of the pile. I loved that in the service any time you were sick they said here take these motrin ib's, now the va does the same thing oh here take these vicitan and i let us know later how you feel.
  12. have an ENT determine if your septumn is deviated, most are if its more then 50 you are rateable, you can have a doctor say you have sinuisitus but what matters is that nose. Go to an ENT most peoples noses are deviated anyway you might be like me and have a large deviation. Mine was at 85
  13. wow, being a new to the VA i have been with for about 6 months now, i have CPS back and knee, and they just started throwing meds at me, when asked about pt they got me scheduled no problem, except that appointment is 2 months away. I'm amazed also at the lack of compastion that some of these nurses and receptitionist have towards vet. Most of these people i've encountered have never served nor know what we are going through. I've seen WWII vets talk to as if they were garabage, it is terrible to see this and to think that when i'm older there will be some 25 year old receptionist talking to me like that. Anyway sorry about my tangent, my point is i want to be diagnoised with or at least have some ideal whats going on with me. Not throw pills at me and say NEXT.

  16. a few days ago i posted a question about CPS, well today the VA called and said oh the ortho noticed something in your xray. i have scoliosis of my L-4, and L-5. Said that surgery is not really an option right now, but might be in a few years. I'm 29 and feel like i'm falling apart, i feel good that we pin pointed the problem but they said i have to deal with the pain. "take your meds" Anyways if you have this problem or know of someone my age how are they or yourself dealing with it.
  17. yeah i have ptsd, and the pain does vary as i stated some days i can not even move other days theres still pain but its more of an annouance (sic). , i'm trying to have them do a new mri of my lower back, my upper back showed a bone spur on my neck that is too dangerous to operate on. its just that the pain cause me to avoid things i used to do and i can believe its a mental thing but i feel that there is something wrong with me.
  18. So, CPS is a rateable disability? I just thought that they throw pills at you cause no one has done anything different. And can i get Physical therapy? I try to explain to people how much pain i'm in but words can not express.
  19. Hi, first time user on here and am so glad that there is a forum like this, found it by doing research on disability and the way the VA works. I have had lower back, knee, and neck problems for a few years and after seeing the ortho va doc he said that i have chronic pain syndrome. Do any of you currently have this problem?, how do you cope without pain pills (i'm not a fan of them would rather not, only take on those days when moving is next to impossible). Thanks for anyone that has some good info for me.
