  1. Thank you for the great responses, the DAV line was busy all day so I'll try Monday so I get the right information on which form and whether they have been sending these forms on my behalf. Many thanks!
  2. Hi all, I've been receiveing TDIU for about 5 years and I recently came across your article: " 6 Reasons to Keep Pursuing VA Claims and Appeals – AFTER you reach 100%". I've never received an "income statement" nor a request for one. My income has, in that time, been only VA benefits and SSDI. Common sense says to leave well enough alone because I don't want to trigger a C&P exam that might result in a reduction in benefits when nothing has changed with my condition anyways. I think it's VA Form 21-527....but since I've never received one....I'm not sure. Should I just continue as I've been doing, or actually print out the form and start sending it in annually? Also, in E-Benefits, it says that there is "no request for documents" Thanks! From your site: Link "...When a Veteran is awarded TDIU, there is no guarantee that TDIU 100% will last forever. In fact, if the Veteran does not submit the annual income statements, or if the VA gets evidence that the Veteran is engaged in substantially gainful employment, the VA could reduce the Veteran’s rating to the combined rating in place prior to the TDIU grant..."
  3. Thanks to everyone for the great replies! I called a nearby vet center and set up an appointment - it is nice to know that that is out there and that I'm not just making this difficulty up lol. Dante
  4. Hi all I just had a meeting with my therapist. 2 weeks ago she said she would change my psychiatrist because he only sees me every six months, didn't know my med history during the last time I saw him, and doesn't know my name after 3 years. She finally told me today that I have to setup an appointment with him (the soonest is in JULY) because only he can change it from himself to someone else (meaning another appointment to wait for after that) ;) I'm SC 70% Severe Depression and I thought my access to care would be pretty solid. To boot, when I asked her about dealing with social anxiety, the only other option she gave me was to see interns. Not reasonable - I want someone with some clinical experience...i told her that if I worked for a company and I was selecting insurance for mental health care, NOBODY would check the "See an intern" box on the form. She says "This isn't a company, it is the VA". In the meantime, my depression is getting worse and another week until I see her. I feel as if the process is broken and that the VA is just waiting until it gets bad enough for me to go inpatient or they just don't care. This is very frustrating, especially with worsening symptoms and I would really welcome any advice. Every time I go to walk-in, I get a different person who doesn't know me or my file and basically just asks when my next appointment with my therapist is. Thanks much Dante
  5. Hi - I am currently seeing a Social Worker/therapist for Severe Depression. I would like to see a Psychologist instead for my social anxiety as she does not know what to suggest that I do to alleviate this. When I told her I was considering a Psychologist, she said she would research it and then later suggested that interns, for 10 weeks, would help me specifically for this, then I could go back to her. I told her that I would rather not. My concern is that they aren't experienced, while Psychologists have to have clinical experience. I'd like to try to get good care at the VA before I go looking for civilian doctors. It seems strange that if a therapist can't help you, the next best choice is an intern.......that's not good. My question is, do you have to have PTSD to see a psychologist in a VA hospital and who would I talk to at the VA Hospital to find out what other alternatives I have as far as mental health issues go - my therapist didn't seem to know and my Psychiatrist is a virtual stranger that I see every six months. Thanks! PS: I'm not sure if this is the right category for this but please let me know and I will post it where it belongs.
