jecsb4
I have a C & P apt with a non VA Dr. who is not a specialist! How do I copies of this C & P records? Apt is with QTC Med services. The VA has all the verified evidence from my civilian and VA specialist, yet they are sending me to a non-specialist for my problem. Someone told me that they do this in the hopes that you will give up and drop your claim. I just can't understand why they didn't send me to a specialist or even a general Dr IN THE VA system. stillhere
I have had only 3 c&P and they were all with QTC I am not to fond of them and have not been able to get the reports as of yet. BUT do not miss the exam if at all possible. Good luck! Stillhere
vaf
By all means, show up at the C & P. Bring copies of the results of the exams the specialists gave you to give to the QTC examiner. In the meantime, if I were you, I would write a letter to my VARO challenging the validity of the upcoming C & P exam based on the lack of credentials of the examiner, and state that you are entitled to a "thorough and contemporaneous" exam, and that you do not consider the exam "thorough" if it's not being performed by a board-certified specialist in the condition being examined. That is your right. It sounds like they're doctor shopping.
HM1retiredUSN
Based on my experience, QTC reports are far easier to read and understand. The QTC doctors answer the questions that are asked of them and give definitive diagnoses that help the rater. I would love to have a QTC exam! All of then ones I have seen have been nothing but helpful to the veteran. There are several reasons why QTC is used versus the VA docs. First, Comp and Pen's appts may be full necessitating scheduling apts with QTC. Second, a veteran may be about to get out of the military and the VA wants the veteran seen before release from active duty. QTC may have an opening where C&P doesnt. This helps the veteran who may be diagnosed with additional disabilitied that were inadvertently left off of the final physical. Trust me... QTC exams are fine. There is no ulterior motive. Jazona
And it has been my experience that QTC contract-killer Drs. are the front line defense for the VA to deny benefits. I had two favorable C&Ps by VA drs. and the VA went on a doctor shopping expedition to bring in a QTC dr. to try to overturn the first two drs. He refused to take into consideration the years of treatment records from the VAMC, refused to consider banks of testing by outside agencies verifying my condition and even LIED, stating that I had claimed decorations that I did not earn. I am of the opinion that the VA uses QTC Drs. solely to deny benefits because VA Drs. tend to evaluate conditions accurately, while the QTC contractor goes out of his way to sublimate symtoms. I have seen that C&Ps for those with physical conditions fare better than mental simply because physical evidence is much more difficult to lie about. If you're going in for a PTSD C&P be prepared to submit reams of evidence and possibly an IMO to overturn a totally bogus QTC exam. jaz
HadIt.com Elder cowgirl Posted October 18, 2007 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 18, 2007 Had C&Ps with VA dr's and civilian dr's. Good and not good. Last C&P doc (generalist) was younger than I, professional and really cared about the evlauation.(even used my spare copy of C&P exam guidelines I brought along because it was easier to read than going back to the computer.Claim SC! Other C&P were different. cg For my children, my God sent husband and my Hadit family of veterans, I carry on. God Bless A m e r i c a, Her Veterans and their Families!
