Jungle Rot Service Connected

Question

My husband recently received his rating decision and his jungle rot was finally service connected at 0% (this was third attempt). VA is requesting an at once examination for the current disability picture. What is the at once exam? Why couldn't this have been addressed at the C&P - my husband mentioned his feet at the C&P for his wounds but doctor said she was done, had what she needed & ushered us out the door.

First of all, at the C&P exam they are only going to examine the portion of the body for which you have filed a claim, i.e., jungle rot AND only jungle rot. Your husband, to be examined for his feet/wounds will have to file a claim for his feet/wounds.

Congrats on the service connection.

I have no idea what an "at once" exam is.

How did they actually word the request for the "at once" exam?

By "wounds" do you mean some schrapnel wounds? or scarring from jungle rot-

I know plenty of Nam vets who have jungle rot in the area of their genitals- I think VA calls it Tinae Curie or something like that-

I think it came from being in wet utilities in the monsoons, sweat soaked clothes from the heat, and the wet dug outs.

I guess "0" is the only way they could rate it-

it is some sort of fungus I think-and it seems to last for decades.
