And you certainly can have bursitis without having fibro.

I also would think bursitis would be separate...sounds like he needs doctors' letters stating this...like from those 4 doctors saying that in fuzzywhitt's case, the bursitis is, "more likely than not," NOT caused by the fibro.

If you have major depression due to chronic pain disorder that disables you from work that should get you TDIU. Fibro is not a mental disorder. This really sounds like some cute BS from the VA.

Fibro is my secondary condition. I was awarded 10% for bursitis in my hips in 96 when I first got out. Just this year I was awarded 40% for Fibro. I have given them the doctors statements. They say that it is the way the regs are written, and that the only reason I didn't get the original 10% for bursitis taken away, was b/c it had been ten years. They said as far as the depression, it is a symptom of Fibro so would not be rated separate.

I don't know anything about your condition, but you might also be eligible for a higher percentage from VA if you also suffer from loss of sphincter control (incontinence that causes you to have to wear a pad) caused by your fibro AND/OR IBS. It's under DC 7332 and ratings are 0, 30, 60, & 100 percent.

Reference decisions can be found at the BVA web site by searching for irritable bowel and sphincter control. Here is an excerpt from one I just came across...

The additional associated and secondary symptoms of the

veteran's Crohn's disease which involve sphincter control are

rated separately and are not addressed in this decision, but

in a separate decision of the same date and docket number.

Hope this helps ...
