Claim Sent To Rating Board !

Rate this question

Question

After 2 years and 2 denials, I called the 800# and they told me that my claim has been sent to the Rating Board. I have not been sent for a new C&P and the 800# lady said that if I am currently being treated by a Psychologist for my anxiety and depression, the VA probably doesn't need a C&P report. Can anyone please tell me what this means by going to the Rating Board. I am currently SC at 0%. Trying not to get too optimistic because of the previous letdowns. Thanks in advance. Brian

I've waited this long and I'm not giving up....NEVER!!

I believe that the VA has what they consider the documents necessary to make a determination in your case and it has been forwarded for rating, where as others have stated here, that is where you want it. From what you've written about the case, nothing positive or negative has been decided in your case this time (yet).

Good luck!

bm6546,

Ron is right. It also means that the process is speeding up. Once they tell you that a decision has been made it usually only takes a week to 10 days to get the award letter. DJ 8

My claim for AO SC death has been in and out of a rating board countless times since Jan 2003-

it is often very hard to determine how long a claim will be in a rating board and what will happen next-

my claim moves every week- so they say- now- it seems to bounce back and forth between 2 DROs.

If you were able to fully comply with the VCAA letter you got and sent them what they asked for-and are sure they received it- you could be cautiously optimistic-

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
