I feel this is great for claimants to gain knowledge. VA language -- is a different language -in and of itself. I feel trying to use their language is beneficial in our claims process, after all that's one of the intimidating things that are involved our claims. Mcafee
Berta uses VA verbiage in many of her answers. This is absoloutely correct.and also many of us here at hadit are not english scholars so we write what we feel is correct to us and thus sometimes this is misconstrud as something else creating a issue or misinterpretation by VA or whomever.and this is also true on how BVA makes a decision, there are many words with same meaning but when utilized in a sentence changes the or adjusts the true menaing behind it.I too see the nessesaty of to be gramatically correct so things are not taken out of context.I hope this helps also. Berta
There is a list of all the acronyms here at hadit- I wrote a list here myself many years ago- it is unfortunate for newbies if we seem to be talking in a different language but it sure saves time in typing the whole thing out. I hope no one has complained about this Carlie- My daughter home from the Mil on leave years ago overheard a phone conversation I was having with a vet and she said I used more acronyms than she used in the Mil! The attorneys who represent vets talk this way too-and they do at VACO-as well- My personal lawyer wanted to start to handle VA claims-he was dying to get my POA on my AO claim-or anything else I had at the VA. When I explained it to him (with the acronyms)my VA issues- he didnt have a clue on what I was talking about- so rather then get some newbie lawyer I found someone else. If a lawyer doesnt understand the acronyms- that is a big red flag for me-wondering what they would really know about the VA claims process. Here is one of the lists: http://www.hadit.com/Definitions
