Rockhound
Question: Would this be considered a medical treatise? Would it be of any help to show a causal link between a minor closed TBI, with a noted concussion, period of unconciousness and demonstrated period retrograde amnesia, so long as I can get a medical nexus statement from a Dr, preferably a specialist in TBI's? carlie
Allan, You always have such GREAT finds. rr, "Question: Would this be considered a medical treatise?" My opinion --- YES "Would it be of any help to show a causal link between a minor closed TBI, with a noted concussion, period of unconciousness and demonstrated period retrograde amnesia, so long as I can get a medical nexus statement from a Dr, preferably a specialist in TBI's?" It would be of GREAT help for your claim, if a Neurologist would connect this Chapter to the Medical Evidence that relates specifically to you, backed it up with rationale and the world famous as likely as not Opinion. In my opinion you 1st need a Neurologist to back up the head injury/ mild, moderate, or severe. The Neurologist would also be qualified to make a decision on the psyc part, but a psychiatrist opinion would also be accepted. jmho. Hope this helps a vet. carlie Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed.
HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted June 22, 2008 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 22, 2008 You know one of the frequent results of TBI is damage to frontal lobes which control impulses. This could be why they said you are a personality disorder. If a doctor will say it you have some traction. My father-in-law had severe TBI and had drastic and psychopathic change to his personality. After the injury he began setting fires. He went to jail. He was normal before his injury in WWII.
HadIt.com Elder allan Posted June 22, 2008 Author HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 22, 2008 Question: Would this be considered a medical treatise? Yes it sure is. That's exactly why I post so much of this type of information. I'm hoping one of you will be able to prove your case against a stacked deck. Rockhound
"In my opinion you 1st need a Neurologist to back up the head injury/ mild, moderate, or severe. The Neurologist would also be qualified to make a decision on the psyc part, but a psychiatrist opinion would also be accepted." I'll try to clarify this before my meds make me a bit slow thinking. First and foremost, the head injury was noted in my Medical Board summery report as being a mild concussion. It was also noted that I was unconcuous for a short period of time. and that I reported when asked if I remembered what happened, I could not remember what had transpired in the past three days since leaving base to go home for some much needed rest. In the days when all this transpired, they did not know as much about TBI's and usually referenced them as a trauma to the head, a concusion, or some sort of fracture of the skull or as in my case, a fracture nasal bone due to a blow to the head. I'm hoping, but not holding my breath, that the person who did my most recent battery of neuropsychiatrical tests and who I gave what medical records I had from service till now, will be able to help me in the way she words her findings. I go in the 27th of June for the results. Fading fast, can hardly keep my eyes open and head up, so it's lights out for at least four hours and a bit longer for me to get the residual fog worked out of my system. Thanks for the input and for the good information posted. RR B) Are you a paranoid schizophrenic if the ones you think are out to get you, really are?
