I feel like I am asking a stupid question, but I've heard there is no such thing as a stupid question, only a stupid answer. My understanding is that an IMO is an (Independent Medical Opinion). If, this is true, I dont understand why you would have to pay 2 to 3k for an expert witness. It seems that you could just go to a clinical pyhsc. for a half dozen visits and get an IMO. I got one from my private physician and did not cost me anything. What I am saying is if you have an HMO, you can go to a specialist in this field, for thirty dolars a visit. That would be about 180.00 or so. Am I in left field or what, on this. :D

Good point Pete-

Dave Barker (Military.com) emailed me he had complaints on me from some Mil.com members because I posted hadit's web site and maybe our SVR show links in replies I had made to vets with claims questions. I found some of their replies to claims questions were too brief and they were quick to say get a service rep- when a claimant needs to do more than that.Yesterday there was an article at VA Watchdog as to how an advocate discovered vet reps were turned down vets and not even accepting claims from them.I felt our advise here might have helped the vets I posted our link for.

I never returned to Military.com

I think the sharing of information and all sort of links is certainly a valuable asset to veterans and was shocked that anyone would complain about links to hadit or anywhere else at Military.com.

We all need all the help we can get.

info on who to contact to find doctors that do independent medical opinions and evaluations

Doctor found through this organization for my exam and wrote me a 'more likely than not' letter for my claim.

I am passing this info on for people looking for doctors for a nexus.

This organization is located in Southern California. I have no clue if they help in any other locations.

You will need to tell them you are paying out of your own pocket, and not through an insurance company. Also, that you care needing this for a military disability claim. That way you will not have any confusion during the process about what is needed. They will do the legg work to find the appropriate doctors for your needs. Then you contact the doctor(s) and find out more info, directly from them.

Good Luck!

Please feel free to post the link. It may help a Veteran find another place to get an IMO. Your confusion about rules may be that advertising is not allowed. You are sharing your experience which is a big part of this Board.

I also apologize as I can see how a new person on Hadit might worry a little considering what has happened here the last few weeks. Unfortunately although well meaning I hope some who come here are not able to conduct themselves without trying to upset others and pick fights with Members.

If you notice or not Hadit has survived and is back on track helping Veterans.Tbird does not ask for much for this wonderful website but following the rules is important. I am including a link to review the rules for anyone who needs to refresh their Memories. Don't forget when you join you agree to follow the rules.

Also don't feel that this is aimed at you its for all Members. I also want to thank you for your comment.

Pete
