carlie
My Korean Vet buddy I'm trying to help, I have a strange question in my mind. He enlisted on 18 Aug 1961, for 3 years RAD : 4 Aug 1964 --SPN Code 411, Early Release, Overseas Returnee DD214 -- #11 a. TRFD To USAR Termination Date of Obligation 17 Aug 1967 He tells me VA says he missed Vietnam Era also by 1 day, 5 Aug 1964. My crazy Question: On DD 214, states, # 24 b. Total Active Service 2 years, 11 months, 17 days. # 32 Remarks - Lump Sum Payment made for 14 days accrued leave. Question : This 14 days accrued leave the Army paid him for added to his Total active service time equals to the day exactly his 3 year enlistment. If those 14 days are counted he would have more than the 1 day he needs to be considered Vietnam Era. I know I'm a bit touched in the head -- but does my thinking make sense to anyone else ? Could this work in his favor ? Thanks so much, carlie Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed.

I have 3 - DD214's and my terminal leave was counted in my 214.

My Korean Vet buddy I'm trying to help, I have a strange question in my mind.
He enlisted on 18 Aug 1961, for 3 years
RAD : 4 Aug 1964 --SPN Code 411, Early Release, Overseas Returnee
DD214 -- #11 a. TRFD To USAR Termination Date of Obligation 17 Aug 1967
He tells me VA says he missed Vietnam Era also by 1 day, 5 Aug 1964.
My crazy Question:
On DD 214, states, # 24 b.
Thanks so much,
carlie
