Adaptive Auto Exam

Question

on wednesday the 18th I have an appointment with the prosthetics dept for an evaluation for adaptive auto and would like to know what takes place at the evaluation.When I call the VA they only say it is a driver training which leaves me more confused.Has anyone here done this annd what do I need to do after I go to this appointment.How long before I know the outcome of the evaluation.

Yes, I have done it. I did it at Audie Murphy about 18 months ago. It is nothing more that a clerk asking you questions and if you need hand controls they show you how to use them... its no big deal. I had adapted equipment since 1999 and was not required ot go to drivers training untill I moved to texas. Once they figure out what you need they write a "prescription" in you medical records and you are good to go. In my case I get a $40K adapted van va pays for about half of it each time I buy a new one.
