Carlie said that those of you that knew him on this board might want to know that Arch passed away. He had a lot of respect for the combined knowledge of Hadit's members which helped us to be successful with his VA claims. He passed away December 3, suddenly and peacefully while sitting at his computer with his dog Lilly at his side. It was unexpected to me, despite all of his medical problems, because his VA doctors had been so optimistic after recent medical exams. But he always said that he hoped when the time came he "would go out like a light". And I think he did. One of his favorite songs was Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" and if you remember the lyrics to that song, it was Arch's philosophy on life.

He was a wonderful husband for 43 years and my best friend. He was a caring person and a proud American. But he fought the VA to the end and managed to get them to award him permanent and total status and thus get CHAMPVA benefits for me about 2 mos. before he died. This has been the hardest thing I've ever had to endure and I really miss him.

I am writing my memoirs and would love it if you could help a shipmate out and look at it.

I've had a few challenges, perhaps the same as you. I relate them here to demonstrate that we can learn, overcome, and find purpose in life.

The stories can be harrowing to read; they were challenging to live. Remember that each story taught me something I would need once I found my purpose, and my purpose was and is HadIt.com Veterans.
