Question

claim payment is being witheld pending incompetency finding. what is reviewed for if a person uses a relative/spouse to be their fiduciary? a+a has been approved and would like to use aunt/hubby (spouse is deployed in the mid east w/ the army right now though) as fiduciary whenever the va rep comes for the in house appt. husband was recommended as a fiduciary over aunt b.c. the vso warned that the va does not like to use distant relatives as fiduciaries and that i might end up getting a va appointed fiduciary...are the credit records pulled or what is looked at when granting/denying someone to be a fiduciary?

thanks a bunch!

It does not matter you should be able to get the fiduciary that you want. If you can pay your bills on time and don't bounce checks you should be in charge of your funds unless you need help.

I am sure that there are good VA fiduciaries somewhere but all we here are stories of really bed ones from time to time.

Good Luck

Tell us more about why the VA thinks you need a fiduciary and maybe Hadit can help you.

What do you want should be the primary concern.

Also don't worry being able to manage your own money should not be a reason to lower your rating.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.
