Do Not Ever utter the words " personality disorder " (unless, of course, you wish to blow holes in the bottom of your boat). If the VA claims that they lost the papers that refer to this "claim-killing" and VA-generated nomenclature, then you need to approach the filing of claims with that in mind, if you get my "drift"?

Do Not Lie. Never Lie. Just, at times, remember to be as helpful as the VA is helpful, which, at times, is NON-helpful. Do not volunteer, but you learned that early in basic training, right!

BTW, I see that you are from Leesville. How's the VA healthcare system in LA?

Kinda looking at a house for sale in Breau Bridge.

Care is good at the Pineville VA Hospital. It is the fact RO in New Orleans takes forever to decide

a claim. We live on the edge of FT POlk. This the joint readiness training center. Breaux Bridge is

nice. Remember this is hurricane season.

Thanks for your assistance on my topic.

If he 'now has' PTSD-is this a formal medical diagnosis?

He can file a claim for PTSD but will need to prove his inservice stressor.

Unless he has the PH, CAR, or CIB on his DD 214.

What was he treated in service for?

Is the 60% his SC now or your percentage?

The 60% is mine. He was treated for alcohol dependency, suicidal ideation and personality

disorder (Neurosis). He served 2 yrs in Navy. He has applied for PTSD which has been

diagnosed by both the VA and private Physician. It stated on his admission papers it was

due to trauma. He worked in Damage Control.
