Certainly shows promise - I guess we will have to see if it changes anything. Here's hoping...

I wonder if I would have all the medical conditions that I have now if I had never joined the Army. I'm pretty sure the answer would probably be no. When I look around and see others my age who were not in the service, most of them look pretty healthy.

Do you think all the employees of the VA really understand that it is ONLY because we served that their positions even exist?

Tbird also posted this, but I couldn't add a comment.

This is a great decision, but I think that it will take time for it to be implemented. I am afraid that initially the raters are going to look for any little thing to deny the claim, instead of approving a claim, since it's easier to deny that approve. And they will be under pressure to clear the backlog... Wait a minute... Isn't that what happens now?

Pete53,

I blew through this article real fast this morning thinking I would re-read it later

and of course it exited my train of thought.

Thanks for posting it, I think in the not so distant future this will be helpful

to claimants seeking VBA benefits.

I'm probably going to re-read this several times over.

Here's a link to the actual Court Case.

By the time the Supreme Court rules on this, congress will have incorporated a remedy for the VA into some back-water legislation.

Until the VA is forced into an action I believe this decision is just more lip service.

It will serve to instill hope where none exists.

Just my opinion.

Those that need help the most are the ones least likely to receive help from the VA.

It's up to us to help each other.

I hope not. Its a chance to test the VA and Congress and our new President. I actually have some hope.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.
