i was getting 4 vigra pills a month, now they give me 2 vardenafil and tell me to splint them in half. I have never used any of them I never wanted them, I just toss them in the trash... who the hell can think of having sex when you are in 24 hour pain... and no I do not get SMC even though it is because of a sc back disability.

Actually, they are considering cutting ED meds altogether because of the way they have been handled.

Here in Seattle, we were able to show that the Seattle VA was prescribing convicted sex offenders (over 200 of them) Viagra...needless to say the stuff has hit the fan. The VA IG has said that they cannot stop giving the convicted sex offenders ED meds, because that would be considered DISCRIMINATION......things that make ya go hmmmmm

Plus now that the other federal programs are no longer allowed to prescribe ED meds, it's a question of legality with the VA.

I look for a lot of big changes before Bubba's term is over. :)

How can they cut ED meds for vets who have service connected problem like diabetes from AO? That is like cutting pain meds because some vets abuse them. I guess someone in VA Headquarters thinks disabled vets are having sex parties and making porn films and need the little blue pill.

I am service connected for ED and the VA started giving me 5 100mg Viagra per month, then they cut it to 4 100mg and now they sent me 2 20mg Levitra (Vardenfil) per month and a pill splitter. First, the pills are made that it is impossible to split them in half, secondly the split pill did absolutely nothing for me, so I tried the full 20 mg Levitra and got about the same results as the 100mg Viagra. So I called the VA Nurse who is between me and my Primary Care Doctor in relaying messages....you can't talk to the Doctor, he hasn't called me back yet, but it's only been 2 weeks. I looked up the prices of Viagra 100mg and Levitra 20 MG. At retail, there's only $1.00 difference for 10 tablets of Viagra 100mg and Levitra 20MG, so in effect by cutting my monthly tablets in half, they are also cutting their cost in half. I am service-connected for ED and I'm going to the top with this if they don't give me either 12 100mg Viagra or 12 20mg Levitra. They can just cut the aid package to Saudia Arabia some to make up the difference. I don't believe we have ever had a government as anti-veteran as we have had for the past few years. It just is not right and it's time to kick these guys out and try somebody new in November!!!!!!!

ROFL !!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all pain meds and Viagra are 2 entirely different catagories and anyone with full time major pain will tell you that they would much rather have their pain meds than have sex........

Until they can guarantee that no registered sex offenders and persons with STD's are receiving the meds, then trust me there will be a major lobby to stop all ED meds at the VA.

Don't get me wrong, I personally love sex and I do have a sexual dysfunction after my sc hysterectomy, but let's face it sex is a recreational sport.
