Yeah... 30% PTSD and other stuff.... Wife wasn't happy with the %30 but oh well. The letter mentioned I might be elegible for Vocational Rehab and Employment benefits... Any idea what they are?

OEF,

Hey -

Going by your profile shows you had no SC'd disability

and now you have SC at 30 percent.

A big congrats that it didn't come back as a denial.

At 30 percent you are also eligible for dependent compensation

which means a few more dollars in your pocket each month.

If you haven't done so already be sure to completely fill out,

sign and submit Form 21-686 c, along with any and all documents

that are requested with the form.

If you feel your PTSD warrants a higher percentage - per your medical evidence,

you can file a NOD and request the higher percentage.

Study the Reasons and Bases Section of your Rating Decision,

maybe read it over several times, to see how VA supported the grant

at 30 percent level and how they supported the denial of a higher level.

If you can, post exactly what is stated in the Reasons and Bases Section here,

other's will probably chime in on it.

Carlie,

Thanks for your kind reply. I actually got the envelope yesterday. It has a lot of info on it, and I'll get the details of the reasons and basis section on here soon. They did indeed give me 30 percent for PTSD... which I am grateful for, but my Mrs. is sad to see. By looking at the symptoms it is clear that I should be at 50%... possible even 70%... but I feel that my symptoms are probably closer to 50%.

My Asthma was denied... more to follow...

I am really in debt to this forum for helping me get this far.

More to follow....

Great-this is a big start- Carlie is correct-

and make sure the Evidence they listed included all the evidence that you had sent to them.

It would be good if we could see how they worded the decision and why they denied the asthma.
