Question

I know this is probably a dumb question, but here goes. Are the bva decisions a month behind on the bva search website and how often are they updated? Thanx for the help.

No, not a dumb question.

BVA decisions don't usually get entered on the internet for a few months.

Also, Keep in mind BVA decisions do not set precedent.

Carlie:

Although BVA decisions do not set precedent they cite regs that are helpful if a case is similar to the claim. I cut and asted the regs from two favorable decisions and cited the BVA Docket number when I appealed my claim and at my hearing the RO said it was very helpful to him.

Pete,

OH believe me - I use tons of BVA decisions for research and referral.

I intentionally posted that they do not set precedent - so new members

will know this.

Skipray,

Some COVA cases set precedent, it will be stated in the ruling either

this can or does not set precedent.

Also certain Opinions of the General Council can set precedent.
