I sent a a message through IRIS monday and to my surprise I got a call the same day. The question was about my hardship letter and was it approved? I was told that hardship was only for speeding up the decision process but not for the authorization The national average for authorization is 10-40 days. Already had been waiting 165 days at the time of the decision. It did not make any sense to me. Hardship means hardship no matter what step a claim is in. Authorization is part of the V.A. claims process right? So why is the authorization process excluded?
