In 2000, I received my original SC award letter. Last year, I received a copy of my c-file from my RO. After digging through them and my C&P exam and hope you guys can clarify some things for me.

SC award letter 2000

I was granted 20% for "Service connection for allergic rhinitis/sinusitis"

C-file copy from last year

"1. SC 6599-6522US chronic allergic rhinitis/sinusitis with septal deviation and nasal polyps."

Note: The VA did not send me the last two pages of the decision letter

C&P exam 1999

Diagnosis

- Chronic rhinitis, allergic

- Chronic sinusitis, with septal deviation and nasal polyps

Did they grant me service connection for both issues or just one?

Thanks

Just one, to include rhinitis & sinusitis. Because the diagnostic codes share many of the same symptoms, it would be considered pyramiding if we gave both. The level of severity & obstruction due to deviation & polyps is what gives the evaulation %.

Well I have two seperate ratings.

one for Sinusitis and one for allergic Rhinitis... effective June 1986.

So either the rules changed or the va made a mistake.
