Deacon 2011
Lots of information in this forum... I was just rated 80% SC for TBI and Cognitive disorder... getting documents together to file for SSDI... should I avoid the headach and anxiety of an initial denial and just get an attorney? hedgey
One tip is to use the last day you worked as your start date as long as it does not get you into a filing problem. Many wait to file and time flies and SS will say no if you don't file in time. Pete's right about this. I stopped working in 1998 when I just couldn't do it anymore. It never occurred to me to ask for a disability retirement or to file for SSDI because I thought I was just a loser. When I filed for SSDI last year, I was denied because I was too far out of date. You only have 5 years to file after the last day of employment.
