Sgt Savage
Is someone who DOES NOT have 24 months of service but has been awarded a VA pension eligible for VA medical care?
GuaymasJim
If you are still receiving the pension: Yes. Even if you are not still receiving the pension or if you do not have a regularly scheduled appointment and need immediate care, just present yourself to the Emergency Room. The length of service is less important than the receipt of the VA pension.
HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted February 19, 2011 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted February 19, 2011 Part of the benefit of the pension is a fairly high ranking that would ensure health care. By definition would get VA care cause of income in my opinion. Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.
HadIt.com Elder Testvet Posted February 21, 2011 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted February 21, 2011 pension amount ensures that the veteran would meet the guidelines for being low income and thus being eligible under the means tests for medical care 100% SC P&T PTSD 100% CAD 10% Hypertension and A&A = SMC L, SSD a disabled American veteran certified lol "A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step." JT24usn
You are correct on the pension part, but another angle I Is completion of required active duty. This is mainly for guard and reservists who were called to active duty (for Other than training) but completed their requirement even though it was less than 24 months. After September 1980 or 81. Anyone before that date need only to have served active duty for other than active duty for training. Be it a short period of time
HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted June 30, 2011 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 30, 2011 I thought that Pensioners had their own rating Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.
JT24usn
I thought that Pensioners had their own rating Priority Group 5 (NSC Pension) see link below for all groups and what they entail http://www.va.gov/healtheligibility/eligibility/PriorityGroupsAll.asp
