Children With Gulf War Syndrome

Hi, my husband served in Operation Desert Storm in the Army 1 Cav div headquarters for 2 months in the desert is all he remembers (doesn't remember what dates). We have 2 chhildren who have been diagnosed with a rare neurological pain syndrome called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, and fibromyalgia. My husband says he did not receive the vaccination they say causes GWS. He does not have any symptoms, but our children do. Do you think it is possible they have it if he doesn;'t, and if there is anything we can do?

I'd suggest that your husband's military records be looked at. If necessary, try to obtain a complete copy.

To add insult to injury, when a vaccination is given by the military, it's usually mandatory. Your husband's records

may show that vaccinations were given on thus and such a date, and may not fully identify what was given.

There may be some sort of cryptic description that needs to be "deciphered" to make any sense.

I hope that the diagnosis you refer to was confirmed by test results and a second opinion, due to the "unusual" nature, and the two children.

My question to you-What does your childrens pediatrician say about what you're suggesting. They would be the first ones you should consult regarding these concerns, if they know anything regarding a connection than they'll tell you. The other thing is search the internet and see what you can dig up about this.
