Question

Hello,

I am new to this website and I have to say I wish I would have found this site a long time ago...anyways...my question is What Diagnostic code for an ACL Replacement is or should be used.....5003 or 5257? If there is anyone else that has had this done what codes were used for them? I have had two ACL Replacements on the same knee and most of my meniscus removed and the Army used code 5003 as did the VA rating me at 0%.....I have always thought it to be wrong... two major knee surgery's on the same knee and they find 0%...if anyone can give me any help I would appreciate it....

Thanks

It should be under the Knee Rom. 5257,

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.

Do you think I should then request that the PDBR review my case? I thought that I should have atleast received 20%...then if I am not mistaken they should have also included 5259 Cartilage, Semiluna, removal of (minimum10% added not combined) which would have made it 30%...I am just not sure...its all such a headache..

Thank you

David
