Nathan
Hello, I've been trying to find an answer on this and have been getting conflicting results. For a child of a veteran that is 100% P&T S/C what is the age cut off for the dependents ID card to access the base/PX? Thanks.
HadIt.com Elder jbasser Posted October 4, 2011 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 4, 2011 Aa long as the child is in college and you show proof then the age will be extended. I dont think it will be allowed past 26th birthday. J A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect. hawkfire27
base access benefits for children and spouses cut off the same time champva does. Children are eligible until they are 18 or until they finish high school which ever is later. Spouses are eligible until divorce, or forever including after the veteran dies. While the veteran is alive the spouse recieves a dated card thats needs to be renewed. After the veterans death the spouse receives a permanent card. My husband's son lost his access when he turned 18, as did his ex when they divorced. We are a Vietnam vet and vet's wife, we are not lawyers or VSO's we're just learning as we go. hedgey
The Champ VA cutoff is now 26. J Is that for dependent children who are students or all? Our insurance had to reinstate our 23 year old when the open season came around again. The only stipulation was that the child not have access to health insurance through their own employer...
