Question

Forgive my mental block. I inquired through IRIS about the status of a case that was remanded by the BVA to AMC, and received the following response:

The Appeals Management Center has completed all development actions required by the Board of Veterans Appeals (BVA) in its remand, your appeal is pending review by a Rating Specialist. As soon as a decision is made, you will be promptly notified.

Do any of you fine veterans have an opinion? It is much appreciated!

I am not a veteran- but this does not indicate any grant of benefits.

Did the remand call for any additional C & P exams?

If you obtain the results of those exams you will have a better idea of what to expect on the decision.

GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.

Do you feel comfortable giving us the BVA citation number and docket number for the remand?

We could read it on line if it has been posted at the BVA site by now and maybe help you more.

I got a remand from BVA and I did what the BVA told the VARO to do.

I feel,if a vet can, in any way, satisfy remand orders, they get a good leg up regardless of what the VARO does with the remand.

Hello, thanks for responding to my post.

I can't find any BVA citation or docket number on any of the paperwork I had, or I would share it.

I had a C&P exam last year in July. The examiner told me that there was evidence in my military medical records issues I was claiming disability on, in this case it is my knees. This remand occured immediately after I was granted 20% for my feet.

I currently am rated 20% for bilateral flat feet and plantar fasciitis. It was the AMC who actually gave me the 20% rating after 8 years of the appeals going back and forth from BVA to the local VARO.

I'm not sure if any of this information is helpful to you, but I thank you for your time.

Hello Fog,

I am in the same boat with my claim being at the AMC and received the same response that you received to my IRIS inquiry in Jan. It is now mid April and no word. I also called the 800 number a month ago and got a 5 minute speech on what happens once a claim leaves the BVA on remand, I respectfully interrupted the operator by politely saying that after six years I was fully aware of procedure I just wanted to know when and what the last action on my claim was...he could not tell me.

I wish I had better news for you but at least you are not alone.

I am actually traveling to DC in May to talk to congress (I know it sounds crazy but completely true there is a group of Vets going to address issues.) Trying to figure out if I can actually show up at the AMC and talk to a real person.
