ARTY_CWO
Hello, I am retired since dec 1st 2011. I just received my rating (envelope) and have a question about retro. On page 2 it says "for now we must withhold all of your compensation until aug 1st 2012. We must do this to prevent a double payment. By working together with the military service department, we will make sure you get your full combined payment" Is this normal and does it mean I get no retro? I have already seen where my retired pay will be docked 5.00 beginning next month? Thanks for your replies....... aggie54
Yes, that what they did with me. I started my claim in July 2010. I then retired in Aug 2010. Was granted 93% in march 2012, but of course they only pay for 90%. Anyway, yes they will withhold until DFAS audits your account. But since you already notice the $5.00 waiver fee means that thats all the Military will keep every month. Then you will get a BIG Retro payment direct deposited into your bank again. Take a good breath buddy and don't worry about it, it's all good. That's how I was until I saw the deposit in my account. You will receive concurrent payments. One from the Military for retirement, and one from the VA for your disabilities.. Congrats.

ARTY_CWO
Also, I noticed on page 2 of my letter that I may be entitled to additional benefits and to submit a statement in support of claim for 3 things that I already got seen for by qtc during my C&P exams. So I filled it out and sending in today, sounds like they just need that statement to make a decision. We'll see.
