  1. I am also 100 P&T. I went to the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, and since they were so backup with appointments they sent me out to find a Dentist. All they said was to make sure the Dentist Office was in their network, and that was it. Now, I get seen by a very good Dentist of my choice. They VA has come through with every suggestion the Dentist has made concerning my Dental needs, and they have paid 100% of my care. Thank you VA...... Aggie Semper Fi:
  2. Hahaha, yes sir, it is. I love living here. Came here after leaving Camp Pendleton in 1995. Then retired at Fort Irwin in 2010, and decided to stay here. I'm actually a Neighbor of Roy Rodgers, well, if he were alive..
  3. Congratulations guys, you did it. You guys deserve it. Life just got a whole lot easier. Just please take care of your Husbands health condition, and everything else will be just fine... Good luck, and God Bless. Aggie
  4. I am also a retired veteran, and when I was rated 100% the VA also sent DFAS a request for audit. This is done so that they don't over pay us. Once DFAS is done with their Audit, they then release it back to the VA. Once the VA gets it, then it pretty much on them to release the retro. I believe it took me around 60 days to get my retro once DFAS sent it back to the VA. After that, it's pretty much like clock work. Every 1st of the month the VA, and DFAS pay me right on time. Good luck Major. Things will come together for you soon, it's just a matter of time. Thank you for your service Sir. Aggie.
  5. Well, first let me say how sorry I am to know that you are suffering from Migraine Headaches. My wife suffers from them everyday, and believe me when her headaches come, her day is pretty messed up for at-least several hours. As for the Sleep Apnea, I suffer from them also. I was diagnose with sleep Apnea while on Active Duty, which I see you were too. As for the rating, it's an automatic 50% disability rating from the VA, of course you will have to use a CPAP for the rest of your life which will help you sleep better at nights. Problem is, it sucks trying to get used to the machine, but with time, and determination you should over come the anxiety that comes while getting used to it. I wish you well, and I hope your claim is decided in your favor in a timely matter. Good Luck, and God Bless. Aggie
  6. This news makes me so happy NavyWife. I am so happy for both of you. You guys deserve it. But you, you are a very special Lady, never giving up, and giving it your very best to assure that your Hubby got was is rightfully his. His is a very lucky man to have such a wonderful wife. You are truly a "Hero". Even tho we are at 100% P&T which makes our lives financially better, I'm sure that when I say this, most of the Veterans here would agree that we would rather have our health back. Anyway, Congratulations. Stay Safe, and May the Good Lord continue to Bless you, Hubby, and your Children. Aggie
  7. Congratulations on your new rating. Keep trying for 100% P&T... You've earned it. Thank you for your service. Aggie........
  8. Congratulations on the Win. You guys deserve it. May the Good Lord keep Blessing you both.. Aggie.....
  9. I am so so glad for you and your family NavyWife. I waited almost 4 years for my claim to be complete, so I know how you feel. So now, relax, and enjoy. You guys deserve it. God Bless, and may you guys live long , and Happy. Aggie
  10. Great news. Glad to hear that everything came out in your favor. Now just enjoy it, and live carefree my brother Marine. Semper FI.........
  11. Yea Buddy, Good stuff. He did me good too. One email to him, and I had my dependency claim completed in 3 weeks, after waiting for over 4 plus years. He is a good man, and I truly believe that he is trying to clean up the system.
  12. Thank you so much for your comment georgiapapa. I am definitely done with them now. It took me 4 years and 3 months to get this behind me. Rated at 100% P&T,SSD, and my Military Retirement sure does help me, because at 60 I can barely run or walk fast. No more life in the fast lane for me. Time to chill, and enjoy my wife and grandchildren Thank you all, and God Bless.
  13. Well Ladies, and Gentleman. The VA has finally finished my claim. Last thing that was lingering around was my dependency claim which was being backdated to 2013 win I was awarded 100%, when in fact it should have been Sept 1,2010 when I retired. Ater a brief email to the Sec of the VA which I sent out about 3 weeks ago sparked a fire in someone's seat, and my claim was decided, and backdated to 2010. I really appreciate everything you guys did for me in guiding me to success. I am done with the VA now. Thank you so much Navywife for suggesting I email McDonald. Thank you Jesus, and Thank you guys.God Bless. Aggie.
  14. My deposits are posting tonight, available tomorrow. Good luck.
  15. I am 100% P&T, 100% VA, 100% DOD, with well over 20 plus years of Active Duty when I retired. To my understanding, in order to get paid by both the VA and DOD which is Concurrent Pay, you must have served over 20 years of Active Duty, Retired, and be receiving your Retired pay from DOD. I'm sure there are more Retired Brothers, and Sisters that might be able to provide some information on this subject. Aggie
  16. Congrats on your WIN. Well deserved. Enjoy, and live long, and Healthy. Aggie
  17. Thank you Carlie, and Navywife, I will certainly do that. I just feel it's not fair on the VA's part to try and cheat, or another words overlook such a big difference in benefits. I am sure it will all come out ok, but more important is the fact that it's all coming to an end. Sometimes closure it the best medicine for the mind. Thank you guys for your continue support to us brothers and sisters. God Bless. Update: Navywife I sent the email as you suggested to Sec. MacDonald with all the eveidence to prove that my claim should have been backdated to 2010. Thank you so much for your help.
  18. Thanks bangajay: I will do that first thing Monday. Thank you so much for the number. georgiapapa thank you for your well wishes. I see that you are following up on the Camp Lejeune issues. I was stationed there as a young Marine from 1976 through 1979 with Force Troops at French Creek. I do suffer from allot of stomach issues, that I believe came from there. I am 100% from the DOD, and the VA but from other issues, other than the blindness of my left eye which I believe came from there. I sure hope the DOD, and the Department of the Navy/ Marines help those contaminated. Gastone I haven't but I will. I jut need some time to feel a little better, and seen by the VA for my eyes. I lost the use of my left eye due to service, and when I was rated 100% the VA just dropped the ball and never followed up with me in regards to my health issues. But, I'm not going to let them forget about me. I will stay on them like flies on a horse. Thanks for the info, and Semper Fi Brother, God Bless Aggie
  19. Thanks guys for your comments and advice. And yes Britton, I was retro back to 2010 when I was rated 100 P&T in 2013. They were paying me $3061.00 single rate because I have 2 smc, but they never paid for dependency. I do see where they should pay back to 2010 for retro on dependency only, because all my other pay is correct. Yes Carlie I do have excess to E-Benefits, but the only thing different is AB8 letter stating my new pay from $3061 to $3220. Hopefully once E-Benefits is up I will see something different. No Worries, at this point I thank god it's all over, other than the few bucks they still owe me. Honestly, it was a long road trip with the VA, and I'm glad it's done. Thanks to all, and may God Bless you my brothers, and sisters.
  20. Well looks like the VA deposited some type of retro. What the Heck, only $2537.00. That's only 16 months Pay for dependency. I don't understand their way of calculation. These are my claim dates. Initial Claim date Sept 2010, I submitted all dependency documents along with medical evidence. Rated 90% MAY 2012. I was told to resubmit all dependency documents again which I did. Rated 100% July 2013. Told to resubmit documents again, but keep the new date of May 2012 when I was rated 90%. Now today received a deposit of $2537.00 which is really only 16 months of pay, how can that be? Wouldn't they have at least gone back to May 2012, which would have been 30 months of retro? Honestly, I believe they should have gone back to Initial date of claim which is Sept 2010. I still haven't received any envelope through the mail, and E-Benefits has been down. What should I do? This just doesn't seem fair to me! Thank you all for your comments.
  21. Well finally after waiting for over 4 years for my claim to be completed, today was the day. My initial claim started back on 2010 Sept 1, after retiring. In 2012 I was awarded 90%, and I was asked to resubmit my dependency information, information that I had already submitted twice before. In 2013, I was finally awarded 100% P&T, but nothing on dependency. My dependency started with a date of March 2012 when it should have been Sept 2010. Anyway, today it shows as effective date of claim of December 2013, I know it's probably because of the last cost of living adjustment, but I'm hoping that when they pay me my retro they will go back to the initial date of 2010. Hopefully the brown envelope comes in soon with all the explanations on benefits and pay, oh by the way, award letter on E-Benefits shows new amount of pay $159.00 a month raise for spouse. Thank you all for your continue help and advice. God Bless. Aggie
